Worry

Worrying is what we DO in response to a stressful feeling. It typically stems from fear of what could happen in the future. The brain is wired to fear uncertainty and to protect you from the worst case scenarios. It thinks that by trying to problem solve ahead of time, you’ll be able to avoid it. Of course, it doesn’t work and only leaves you feeling drained.

When you become aware that you are worrying, stop your brain.

Say: It's possible the worst happens. It's also possible it doesn't. I will not think about the worst until it happens.

Discipline your brain like a toddler. And if there is a circumstance you feel needs preparing for, that's ok. Make the plan and then STOP thinking about it.

You are in charge of your brain, your feelings, and your actions. Run them instead of letting them run you.
