Reality or Possibility

Being realistic is touted as an attribute.

But is it?

Being realistic sounds like being disappointed ahead of time.

It sounds like staying small so that we don’t get our hopes up too high.  The higher they go, the further it is to fall.

It doesn’t make any sense because this actually creates MORE disappointment.

If we live in possibility and the excitement of it, we might be disappointed if something doesn’t happen.  But at least we get to enjoy the possibility of it for a while.

When we ask ourselves to be realistic instead, we invite disappointment so much sooner and for so much longer.

Almost always “reality” isn’t something we love.  It’s not the way we use that word in our culture.  When we try to accept that which we doesn’t align with who we are or what we really want, we create tension.

That tension is a stress response.

So if you’re not sure where you’re being “realistic”…look towards the stress in your life.

The stress is your guidance system.  It’s your opportunity to see yourself.  I’ve kind of fallen in love with my stress for this reason.  It’s always offering me an invitation to shift, grow, and create peace.

If you’re ready to learn how to use your guidance system, I invite you to set up a consult. Just click here.
